London: 1200 GBP
Hamburg: 800 Euro
Arrezzo: 500 Euro
Estimated living costs include accomodation, food, public transport and mobile ticket. Please be aware that these are ESTIMATED only. Living costs depend greatly on the area you are staying in and your style of living.
Additionally, flight ticket costs need to be covered by the applicant. Average flight ticket costs between the European locations are 400 Euro per flight (the earlier you book the lower the price is with the majority of airlines). The cost of the flight from the home location of the applicant depends on where they are flying from.
Professor Mundy and Dr Andrich practice as full-time Reconstructive Urologists at the Institute of Urology at UCLH. Their Reconstructive Unit is a National Referral Centre for all complex reconstructive urology. Their particular interests are posterior urethroplasty for pelvic fracture related urethral injury and for the salvage of complications of prostate cancer treatment. All types of urethroplasty are performed on a weekly basis. Three trainees, one nurse practitioner and two personal assistants support the unit.
The center is dedicated exclusively to the diagnosis and cure of pathology. Thanks in particular to the long established experience of its Director and collaborators, the reconstructive urethral surgery center guarantees the performance of all types of surgeries available today for the treatment of urethral stenosis. Every year more than 400 patients affected by urethral diseases are treated. These patients come from all over Italy and Europe.
The UKE is the hospital and Medical School of Hamburg University. A childrens hospital, the Altonaer Kinderkrankenhaus, is attached.
The department of urology covers the whole field of urology. Reconstructive urology is one of the main interests. Beside all types of urinary diversion and complex reconstructions more than 200 urethral reconstructions are performed per year.All types of urethroplasty are performed. Beside Margit Fisch, Roland Dahlem (Adult Urology) and Silke Riechardt (Paediatric Urology) are staff members that are involved in the reconstructive field. The whole staff consists of 5 senior staff members and 15 residents.
